Kodak introduced Mobile Film Scanner to Digitize 35mm film and slides

Kodak Photo Plus has released the Kodak Mobile Film Scanner is built right into the card box that stores the scanner itself when not in use.

This scanner works in conjunction with a conventional smartphone and allows you to digitize slides and 35mm negatives. However, unlike other similar solutions, the Kodak mobile film scanner is made of thick cardboard that folds back into a small portable box.

Kodak’s mobile film scanner is a bit like a Google Cardboard device. Built-in LED light is used to illuminate slides and negatives; the accompanying mobile application allows you to receive an image and edit it, including cropping.

After “scanning”, the Kodak Mobile Film Scanner application can be used to apply image filters and publish photos on social networks.

The new Kodak scanner is powered by two AA batteries and can hold 35mm black and white film negatives, color film negatives and color slides positives. The corresponding mobile application supports Android 5.0 and above and iOS 6 and above.

The Kodak Mobile Film Scanner has been priced at $39.99 and it can be purchased through Amazon and Bhphotovideo online stores.

In 2018, the Kodak has introduced scanza film scanner, which was also very compact. The film is scanned into 14-megapixel jpeg files. If you need a higher resolution, the scanner can interpolate the image up to 22MP.
