Klipsch has launched the BAR 40 and BAR 48 soundbars were already announced at CES 2019. The two models are equipped with a wireless subwoofer and feature a height of 7.3 cm.
The Klipsch BAR 40 is a budget product, it integrates a 2.1-channel system with two 19-mm Tractrix Horn tweeters and two 76.2-mm midrange tweeters. The subwoofer is equipped with a 165.1 mm driver. The soundbar is equipped with a Dolby Audio decoder (Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus) and offers various modes including one that processes the sound to recreate a virtual surround effect.
Connectivity includes a 3.5mm analog input, an optical digital input, HDMI with ARC (audio return channel), Bluetooth and the output for a subwoofer. The measurements are 101.4 x 7.3 x 8.6 cm.
BAR 48 raises the bar by proposing a 3.1-channel system. There are three Tractrix Horn tweeters of 25.4 mm and four midranges of 76.2 mm. The wireless subwoofer houses a 203.2 mm driver. Added to the Dolby decoder is support for DTS, DTS-HD and DTS Virtual: X technologies (coming soon with a future update), capable of expanding the sound in height through virtual processing.
Klipsch BAR 48 can also be transformed into a 5.1-channel system by adding Surround 3 wireless speakers are connected wirelessly (via a special dongle) like the subwoofer and offer 60W power. The sound is spread through a 76.2mm full band driver, measurements are 121.1 x 7.3 x 8.6 cm.
