Kipon has announced a new set of cine lenses, the Colibri Cine, designed for filmmakers who require compact, high-quality cine lenses, according to a press release.

These lenses are characterized by their compact size, lightweight, and versatility, all of which are achieved through a single design. The optics in the series have a feature called “multi-mount,” which allows them to be used with Canon R, Sony E, Leica L, Fujifilm X, and Nikon Z mounts. These lenses are compatible with a variety of cameras, including Red Komodo, Red Raptor, Sony a7S, α7S II, a7S III, FX9, FX6, FX3, FX30, Canon EOS Cinema, Canon EOS R5, Canon C70, Panasonic S1H, and BS1H.
A total of five cinema lenses are included with a specially designed aperture to create “bokeh with a cinematic feel,” according to a press release. Also, this series boasts high-quality color reproduction.
There are a total of five fixed focal lengths: 24, 35, 50, 75, and 90mm. Each lens is equipped with an integrated Swiss-made bearing system, which provides smooth and accurate focus control. Additionally, all of the lenses have a thread for a 77mm diameter light filter. It has also been reported that these lenses have good control over breathing during focusing.
All five lenses have a 10-blade aperture and standard gear pitch M0.85. The focusing ring can be rotated 300°, and a Ø77mm threaded filter can be mounted in front of the front element.
