Garmin launches Vivofit jr. 3 Star Wars Edition with one-year battery life

For Star Wars Day, Garmin released a new version of the Vivofit jr. 3 kids fitness tracker, available in a choice of Mandalorian or Grogu skin. Aside from the design adjustments, the associated app also offers a Star Wars adventure that aims to motivate children to move more.

Garmin Vivofit Jr. 3 kids fitness tracker

The Garmin Vivofit Jr. 3 fitness tracker for kids was originally introduced in 2020, Garmin is now offering two new variants for Star Wars fans. These come with either a green Grogu strap or a dark gray Mandalorian strap. Garmin offers several watch faces based on different characters from Star Wars.

A special “Skywalker Saga” app aims to encourage children to move more because the app is designed to enable them to experience the best moments from Star Wars – but in order to advance in the story, certain movement goals must be met. The Mandalorian is designed to teach kids simple workouts.

On the other hand, nothing changes on the hardware. The Vivofit jr. 3 remains a fairly basic kids activity tracker that is said to last up to a year on a CR2025 battery. That is possible, among other things, thanks to the economical MiP display, which can be read easily even in direct sunlight.

The kids fitness tracker can record the steps taken and track the user’s sleep. An alarm clock, a timer, and a stopwatch are also part of the range of functions, while the robust housing, which is water-resistant to a depth of 5 ATM, should withstand everyday life effortlessly.
