Irix is already known from various fixed focal length lenses that are available with different camera connections. Now Irix is introducing a bright wide angle lens IRIX 45mm f1.4 Dragonfly, which is designed for the Fujifilm GFX system and the sensor size is 43.8 x 32.9 mm.
The 45mm lens is presented in a robust metal housing. With the handy aperture ring and the large distance setting ring, it is very user-friendly. The focusing ring can be locked in any setting (focus lock), which prevents the focus from being accidentally changed during recording sequences.
The finish of the lens is adapted to the “Dragonfly” line from Irix and is very haptic, is largely scratch-resistant, and, with its robust magnesium housing, offers good long-term value. It is also sealed against dust and splash water at five points, making it suitable for professional use under tough conditions.
The aperture, which can be adjusted from 1.4 to 22 with quiet notches, consists of 9 blades, which, with their rounded shape, create an almost circular opening, which results in a delicate bokeh. With full aperture, the main subject can be isolated very effectively from the background due to the shallow depth of field.
