Insta360 launches One R successor with more Power and Versatile Design

Last week the hashtag #BuiltToAdapt and the teaser video for the new action cameras from the 360 degree camera professionals already indicate where fans of a better GoPro Hero 10 alternative are headed. And today Insta360 introduced the new action cam Insta360 ONE RS, a successor to the modular Insta360 One R (starting from $429.99 on Amazon).

The action cam market is still firmly in the hands of GoPro, who are even banking on four different successors to the GoPro Hero 10 (starting from $449.99 on Amazon) this year, as the GoPro CEO confirmed in the spring. But the competition is also growing and has recently relied primarily on modularity, as the drone specialist DJI had shown with the Action 2 (starting from $399.99 on Amazon) last year. With Insta360 ONE RS series, the company is bringing three models: the 4K Edition, Twin Edition, or 1-Inch Edition, each offering a different lens-and-sensor combo.

The updated ONE RS Core module powers the intense processing for 360-degree video, internal stabilization, and a wind-reduction algorithm. Whether you’re looking for a 1-inch sensor with Leica glass, a weatherproof 4K wide-angle lens, or 360-degree 5.7K footage, the ONE RS has an edition for you. Then again, its modular design allows you to have all three.

Insta360 ONE RS is the interchangeable lens camera that transforms from a 360 camera to a wide-angle shooter. It builds on the foundation of its predecessor, with key user experience and performance upgrades. A new 4K lens offers stunningly detailed wide-angle videos and photos, while a new RS Core offers better in-camera stabilization, crisper audio, and more.
