The Ikelite has announced the first fully functional and durable Underwater Housing called 200DL, which received model number #71065 and which allows the diver to work with the Nikon Z 50 mirrorless camera at depths of up to 60 m.
The 200DL is made of a corrosion-resistant high-strength transparent polycarbonate and ABS plastic blend with anodized aluminum push buttons, stainless steel direct-drive rotary controls, and large, curved levers for shutter and autofocus afford access to all essential camera functions.
Its design provides access not only to all camera controls but also provides for the possibility of using a removable SuperEye viewfinder. The built-in flash is not suitable for illuminating the subject underwater.
The dimensions of the product are 229 x 178 x 159 mm and weigh 2165 grams. It is white on the front, top, sides, and bottom, but clear in the back to allow you to monitor the O-ring seal and maintain your view of the camera’s rear controls. The supplied aluminum tray with a left-hand quick-release grip affords improved balance and handling while offering an attachment point for an optional lighting arm.
The 200DL housing ships without a required lens port, and accepts various interchangeable dome and flat ports for a broad array of lenses. The DL port system accommodates lenses with large diameters and provides added security against leaks at the surface, thanks in large part to the included vacuum valve for checking watertight integrity before the dive.
The front-loading mounting plate enables quick camera installation and does not need to be removed in order for you to gain battery or memory card access. The mounting plate has a 1/4″-20 threaded hole on the bottom for connection to an optional tripod.
