The iFi Go Pod Air can transform wired earbuds and in-ear monitors into high-quality Bluetooth earbuds, including support for Sony LDAC and Qualcomm aptX Adaptive. It is also compatible with almost all modern IEMs.

The new iFi Go Pod Air offers the same functionality as the older Go Pod (approx. $389 or £399 on Amazon). Still, it promises better sound in a 40 percent lighter and 20 percent smaller housing for increased comfort. The basic idea remains unchanged—the iFi Go Pod Air connects to wired earbuds, transforming them into wireless earbuds with the integrated battery, Bluetooth chip, and amplifier.
By default, the iFi Go Pod Air is compatible with all IEMs that connect via a 2-pin connector or MMCX cable, but the manufacturer also offers adapters for T2, A2DP, and Pentaconn. Once connected, users can establish a Bluetooth connection to the earbuds, which supports AAC and SBC and the hi-fi codecs Sony LDAC, Qualcomm aptX Adaptive, and LHDC. iFi touts premium sound thanks to a 32-bit DAC from Cirrus Logic.
Thanks to an integrated microphone, users can also use the combination of IEMs and Go Pod Air for phone calls, while a touch-sensitive surface on the outside of the Go Pod Air allows playback control. The IPX5 certification promises protection against rain and sweat. Reviewers say the battery runs for seven hours, or 15 hours with the included charging case, which is large enough to charge the Go Pod Air without detaching it from the IEMs.
