The ToughArmor MB872MP-B has been added to the Icy Dock range. This is an M.2 SATA SSD mobile rack and is designed to fit into the normally empty 5.25-inch optical drive bay. It simultaneously accommodates 12 M2 SSDs with a length of 30 to 110 mm (2230, 2242, 2260, 2280, or 22110). Note that only SATA M.2 drives are supported.
For connection, three OCuLink connectors (SFF-8612) are used, which are located on the rear panel. Grouping reduces the number of cables. At the same time, a full connection with a bandwidth of 6 Gb/s remains available to each drive. Power is supplied via two 15-pin SATA power connectors. Removable drive tray with tool-less drive installation for easy drive maintenance.
Replacing drives requires no tools. The SSD trays are made of aluminum so they can dissipate heat well. To ensure good thermal contact with the drive components, the kit includes heat-conducting pads located on the inside of the tray. The entire structure is also made of metal, is cooled by ventilation holes and a 40mm fan. A three-position switch allows you to select high or low rotation speed or turn off the fan. Each tray is equipped with an LED status indicator. Product dimensions are 157.8 x 146 x 41.3 mm.
