Along with the ToughArmor MB720M2K-B PCIe NVMe SSD mobile rack, which allows you to place four PCIe M.2 drives with NVMe support in the 5.25-inch bay, Icy Dock has also introduced the ToughArmor MB833M2K-B removable rack. It allows you to install M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD in the drive bay.

At the same time, the drive itself is installed in a special tray – the same as in the ToughArmor MB720M2K-B. The tray is compatible with M.2 PCIe SSD of any standard length, up to 110 mm. The drive in the tray is fixed without using any tools with a movable lock. In the tray description, the manufacturer mentions electromagnetic shielding and good cooling. The kit includes heat-conducting gaskets, and the lid of the tray is an aluminum radiator.

The ToughArmor MB833M2K-B supports blazing-fast PCIe x4 transfer speed up to 32Gb/s via MiniSAS HD (SFF-8643) and accepts all standard M.2 drives lengths from 30mm to 110mm (2230, 2242, 2260, 2280, 22110). A typical M.2 drive is installed on a motherboard or a riser card and secured by a tiny screw, and it can be a very troublesome and time-consuming process to install or remove the drive physically.

The ToughArmor MB833M2K-B makes M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD installation and removal a more straightforward and efficient process. You can simply place the M2 SSD in the drive tray, adjust the drive locker to the correct length per M.2 drive type, and push down the drive to lock in place. It comes with a rugged heavy-duty metal construction throughout the entire device. It has a full metal design is perfect for industrial devices that require a flammability rating, since all-metal already complies with flammability requirements.
