Huawei MatePad SE 11 Quick Review
Design
In terms of appearance, this tablet stands out with its robust, monolithic metal design. The Huawei MatePad SE 11-inch features a durable aluminum alloy, offering excellent grip and rigidity. Unlike cheaper tablets, it does not feel flimsy.
Our Huawei MatePad SE 11 review model is in Nebula Gray color. The design features a monolithic metal construction, creating a seamless look without visible joints between the edge and back. The corners have a slight curve, making it very comfortable to hold.
The new tablet measures 252.3 x 163.8 x 6.9 mm, making it comparable in size to the 2022 10.9-inch iPad Gen 10. Despite its large size, the MatePad SE 11 inch is not too heavy, only 475g, and is still quite comfortable to hold, probably because the device is only 6.9mm thin.
The device features two speakers and a power button on its top edge. At the bottom edge, you’ll find a USB-C port and two extra speakers. This setup provides a total of four speakers for an enhanced audio experience.
The left side will not have any details, while the right side will only have volume up and down buttons and a microphone.
Display
The Huawei MatePad SE 11 features an 11-inch screen with a Full HD+ resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. It includes a TFT LCD panel, providing solid display quality for its price range.
The screen is limited to a 60Hz refresh rate. However, it features a thin bezel with an 85% screen-to-body ratio. The bezels are uniform, and the front camera is positioned on the side, similar to most modern tablets.
Specification and software
In terms of configuration, the Huawei MatePad SE 11 is equipped with a Kirin 710A processor, providing relatively smooth processing for daily tasks such as reading newspapers, surfing Facebook and TikTok, … or even playing games that do not require too high configuration. The new tablet still only comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory, which is enough for everyone to use well for basic needs.
The device now runs on HarmonyOS 2.0.0. However, it still lacks Google services, so you’ll need to install Google apps using Gbox.
Camera and battery
The Huawei MatePad SE 11 features an 8MP rear camera, allowing you to take photos of documents and capture quick moments during daily use. The front of the tablet features a 5MP selfie camera. This camera is ideal for online studying or video calls with friends.
The tablet features a 7,700mAh battery and supports 22.5W charging. This allows for a full day of use on a single charge.
Is the Huawei MatePad SE 11-inch a Good Buy?
Currently, with a price of less than £250, I think this is still a choice worth considering in this segment, especially for students who need a thin and light tablet with a large screen, a stylus to support work, and a durable battery to accompany them throughout the day.
The Huawei MatePad SE 11-inch is now available on Amazon.co.uk for just £242.53.
If you’re unsure which tablet to choose, consider the Oukitel OT8 11-inch tablet, priced at $189.99. For more details about this Android tablet, refer to this review.
