There is no doubt that the Gen 11 Intel i5 CPU has given impressive performance over products from other manufacturers. Coming to the HP Pavilion 15, we quickly tested the performance of the Gen 11 Intel Core i5-1135G7 CPU via Geekbench 5. The results are as follows:

  • CPU: Single-core scored 1,272 points, multi-core scored 3,596 points.
  • HP Pavilion 15’s performance reached 9,354 points.

A result that meets our expectations and believes that this laptop will provide a smooth user experience. As expected, we multitask many different functions on the HP Pavilion 15 with ease, and beyond the HP Pavilion 15 laptop can carry both graphics software with multiple Chrome tabs at the same time.

We appreciate the performance of 8 GB RAM because even though we have opened more than 12 Chrome tabs for a long time, these windows do not reload from the beginning and help us handle our work better. The HP Pavilion 15 i5-1135G7 allows you to use both Photoshop and Lightroom at the same time, can carry AutoCAD, and it is fine to play games on this touchscreen laptop.

Discrete graphics cards are not required because Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics prove their efficiency for frames and stable experiences. We played League of Legends, and in total combat moments, the FPS was 73–83 FPS (average-high graphics). Typically, FPS fluctuations are consistently 83–90 FPS, sometimes reaching 97 FPS.

To provide enough storage space for users, HP has integrated the HP Pavilion 15 i5-1135G7 set of 512 GB M.2 PCIe SSD drives. Using CrystalDiskMark, we have measured the read/write speed of the hard drive, and the results are as follows:

  • Read speed: 1,451 MB/s
  • Write speed: 955 MB/s

Design

Talking about the design, there is no doubt that the design of the HP Envy Series and HP Pavilion Series has been highly appreciated by many users. We also appreciate it and this HP Pavilion 15 has a light yellow color. Depending on the viewing angle, you will feel the laptop as if it is wearing a silver shirt which looks very luxurious.

The HP Pavilion i5 has a plastic shell, but the lid is made of metal. Why not make the whole metal? Personally, we think the whole metal design would increase the cost of the product. Instead, this combination makes the device beautiful and helps the device compete with other competitors in the segment.

At the rear, the laptop is simplified with a shiny HP logo. Meanwhile, the dorsal part is empty and does not have too many intricate details.

The feeling of holding the laptop in hand is very light. Overall the machine is large in appearance but quite easy to carry with it. The HP Pavilion 15 i5-1135G7 is not as thick as you might think, so don’t be afraid of it or taking up too much space in your backpack.

In terms of connectivity, the laptop is fully integrated with ports. In particular, the laptop includes 2x USB 3.1 ports, HDMI, USB Type-C, 3.5mm audio jack, and power port. The device also has a microSD card slot.

Display

The screen of the HP Pavilion 15 is actually very good in this price range. HP has integrated a larger screen with sizes up to 15.6 inches, plus Full HD resolution will bring sharper and clearer images. HP also adapts to the surrounding edges to make the viewing experience more comfortable than before.

We often watch movies on our laptops, so we prefer laptops with larger screens and faster display capability. All these factors can be found on the HP Pavilion 15 i5-1135G7 and another plus is the device with vivid and bright performance colors.

Compared to high-end laptops, it is certain that parts of the laptop should be respected, but if compared with competitors in the same segment, it is not certain. And we dedicate another point to the HP Pavilion 15 when it comes with a bright IPS LCD panel that allows you to use it in a wide variety of environmental conditions, especially indirect lighting.

Keyboard and touchpad

With a larger overall size, the HP Pavilion 15 i5-1135G7 has taken advantage of space on the keyboard and integrated physical NumPad on the right. With such NumPad, students or office workers can quickly enter data. Not only that, but the keystroke experience is also very comfortable for ventilated button spacing and good key bounce.

Unfortunately, the laptop does not have any backlight, so you will have little difficulty using the keyboard in a dim light environment. You can relax using the touchpad, the surface of the touchpad is very smooth, so you can use it comfortably.

Battery life

Battery life is always an admirable point on HP products and the HP Pavilion 15. This is no exception. As you can see in the table below, the HP Pavilion 15 provides more than 4 hours of battery life using multi-tasking.

To measure the laptop’s battery life, we used BatteryMon software. During testing, we opened 7 Chrome tabs and Photoshop to design and also opened Lightroom to color some of these photos. For us, the result of more than 4 hours of multi-tasking is a commendable thing.

Heatsink

In today’s article, finally, we will talk about heat dissipation. To give the clearest and most objective approach, we used AIDA64 software combined with real-world experience to evaluate the HP Pavilion 15’s heatsink.

And as you can see, within more than an hour of using the same conditions when testing the battery, the CPU temperature warms up to 68° C. We feel that this temperature is not very high and the experience is not as hot as you think. You will be able to complete your work quickly and within the time limit.

However, do not force your laptop to operate at maximum performance for a long time, especially when playing heavy games like League of Legends on a laptop for more than 2 hours. At that time, the device is very hot at the bottom.

Final line

And those are our experiences about this HP Pavilion 15 i5-1135G7. After a week of experience, we see that the laptop has met all the needs of the user by providing a powerful display that can be used for games, overall beautiful and long battery life. At the price of $739.99 on Newegg.com and Bestbuy.com, in this price range, you can find a laptop with internal stability and external appearance.
