HP has revived the OmniBook brand with the launch of the OmniBook X, a unique addition to its AI-powered laptop lineup. This device features an eye-catching design and boasts up to 26 hours of battery life, made possible by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processor.
Several popular laptop series, such as the HP EliteBook Ultra G1q, Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6, Asus Vivobook S 15, Surface Laptop 7, Surface Pro 11, and Acer Swift 14 AI, have already embraced Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X series. Now, HP joins the trend with its first ARM-based Copilot+ PC, bringing the OmniBook name back after more than two decades with a distinctive design twist.
The OmniBook X seamlessly combines a light gray chassis with a dark gray keyboard, while the lighter gray function keys and bright blue AI logo beneath the keyboard add subtle accents. Furthermore, at just 14.22 millimeters thick and weighing 1.34 kilograms, HP claims it to be the thinnest notebook in the world. Additionally, the 26-hour battery life was measured by playing a video at 200 nits brightness, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth disabled to optimize power consumption.
For streaming enthusiasts, the laptop offers 22 hours of Netflix playback. The OmniBook X supports video calls on Microsoft Teams for up to 12 hours, despite its relatively compact 59 Wh battery. The device supports USB-C charging at 65 watts.
The OmniBook X features a 14-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2,240 x 1,400 pixels, though it peaks at 300 nits of brightness. Inside, the Snapdragon X Elite X1E-78-100 processor delivers 45 TOPS of AI performance, supported by 16 GB or 32 GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 512 GB to 2 TB via PCIe 4 SSDs.
