HP OMEN Obelisk Desktop and Mindframe Headset For Gamers Announced

HP has not wasted time after the presentation of the new Nvidia GeForce RTX 20 series GPU, has raised the curtain from its gaming desktop platform. The HP OMEN Obelisk revolves everything around the GeForce RTX 2080, based on the Turing architecture, combined with Intel Core i+ (up to the esa-core models) or AMD Ryzen (up to octa-core models).

HP OMEN Obelisk is able to meet the needs of the most demanding fans, who often like to put their hands on the hardware configuration, changing or expanding the components.

The high-quality components selected by the manufacturer can also be found by examining the memory compartment: HP chose HyperX as a RAM supplier. Each configuration is equipped with HyperX FURY DDR4-2666 memory for a maximum amount of 32GB. The storage compartment offers multiple configuration options: with PCIe NVMe SSD, dual storage (SSD + HDD), triple storage (SSD + 2x HDD), single-HDD, or HDD+ Intel Optane memory for storage acceleration.

Particular attention has been paid to the cooling system: the basic one, which provides adequate ventilation of the upper, lower and side of the body, can be further enhanced by installing a 120mm fan or a radiator for liquid cooling.

HP has not neglected the aesthetic aspect, providing an RGB lighting system that allows you to change the color of the logo on the front. Additional RGB LEDs can also highlight the internal components in the configurations comprising the side panel in tempered glass and with a protective layer that blocks electromagnetic interference (available optionally).

HP also announced the new OMEN Mindframe Headset is the world’s first headset with active earcup cooling technology. It is aimed at delivering added comfort and audio benefits for both competitive play and streaming. It features noise cancelation, real-time audible feedback via sidetone to take advantage of noise cancellation, new fabric cups for improved breathability.

OMEN Obelisk Desktop will be available in September via HP.com and other retailers for a starting price of $879.99. OMEN Mindframe Headset will be available in October via HP.com and other retailers for a starting price of $199.99.
