HP Envy x2 2018 variant has been updated with seventh generation Intel Core m3 / i5, 2-in-1 laptop at the CES 2018. The device was first introduced at Qualcomm Tech Summit 2017 back in December 2017.
Different processor, fanless design and most of the hardware remain very similar. The body is made of CNC aluminum, slightly thicker than the Snapdragon 835 model (7.9mm vs. 6.9mm) and without the integrated kickstand. Later on, the Bang & Olufsen logo that has taken care of the audio part that uses two front speakers is clearly visible.
A 12.3-inch display with WUXGA+ (1920 x 1280 pixels) resolution and it is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 4. There is a 12-megapixel WDR camera at the back and a 5-megapixel front camera with biometrics authentication support through Windows Hello.
The cover with integrated backlit keyboard also protects the back and also placed in three positions: laptop, reading and drawing. The key travel time is about 1.3mm.
As for the connectivity, in addition to two USB 3.1 Type-C ports, we have the 3.5mm audio jack and a microSD slot. There is no lack of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi ac 2×2. Optionally, it is also possible to integrate a 4G-LTE modem in Cat.9 with a nano SIM slot.
As for the configurations, in addition to the Core m3 and i5 seventh-generation processors, you can choose up to 256GB of SSD PCIe and 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM. The integrated battery allows you to reach a maximum runtime of up to 15 hours. Thanks to HP Fast Charge technology, the battery can be recharged up to 90 percent in about 90 minutes (50% in 30 minutes). The HP Digital Pen is also included.
HP Envy x2 2018 will be available on the market in the spring this year. As of now, no information has been provided regarding the sale price.
