HP Elite Dragonfly Convertible Notebook With 24.5 hours Battery, Weighs 990g announced

Today, HP has replenished with the Elite Dragonfly convertible notebook, this is a compact 2 in 1 laptop tablet with a 13.3-inch touchscreen display, lightweight (basic versions 990 grams) and with very good battery life – the option with a battery capacity of 56.2 Wh works in MobileMark 2014 up to 24 hours and 30 minutes. And although in real conditions the battery is likely to be lower, anyway for a model weighing about a kilogram this is a very good result.

HP Elite Dragonfly due to the design features of the case (the lid rotates at an angle close to 360 °) is equipped with a touch screen. The 13.3-inch display with Full HD or 4K resolution and it is also protected by the Gorilla Glass 5 glass.

The case of the convertible notebook is made of magnesium alloy, its thickness is 16.1 cm. This is a business 2 in 1 laptops, which means that we have worked on the strength additionally. As a result, Elite Dragonfly meets the requirements of the US military standard MIL-STD 810G. Interestingly, the case even has an oleophobic coating, so it should not be covered with a fair amount of fingerprints.

HP Elite Dragonfly is equipped with the eighth-generation Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 CPUs (Whiskey Lake). Which, however, did not prevent the model from meeting the requirements of the Project Athena concept.

The maximum amount of RAM LPDDR3 is 16GB (there is no possibility of its expansion), the amount of SSD reaches 2TB. Moreover, in basic models, a drive with a SATA interface is used, and more expensive versions with support for PCIe 3.0 x4.

Connectivity is very important to business users, and Elite Dragonfly is unlikely to disappoint in this regard. These hybrid tablet laptops support Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0, has two USB-C ports (one of them with Thunderbolt 3 interface), one USB 3.0 Type-A port, HDMI video output, and a standard headphone jack. For an additional, the tablet laptop can be equipped with an LTE modem (Intel XMM 7360/7560) and a wired gigabit network adapter. The Band & Olufsen speaker system is represented by four loudspeakers.

The dimensions of the new HP tablet notebook are 304.3 x 197.5 x 16.1 mm. It goes on sale October 25th, pricing starts from $1,550.
