HP Computers unveiled the Chromebook 11 G5, the latest affordable device in the company’s Chromebook lineup, specially designed for students, travelers or mobile users. The new HP Chromebook 11 G5 laptop has been priced at only $189 and it will go on sale in July via the company’s online store, and is also expected to go on sale via other online retailers in October.
Looking at the Chromebook 11 G5’s design, which comes with a redesigned chassis along with the HP’s glossy iconic logo, with a narrower display bezels, thinner and lighter dimensions than previous models. It weighs in at 1.13 kgs.
With the HP Chromebook 11 G5, the company is trying to give Chromebook users more affordable choice. It offers a 11.3-inch IPS display that protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and optional touchscreen display panel. As for the processor, HP is giving quad-core Intel Celeron N3060 processor and other features yet to unveil by the company such as RAM, storage, and more.
HP says new HP Chrome Laptop model with a non-touchscreen display can last for up to 12.5 hours whereas the touchscreen model will give you up to 11 hours of action on a single charge. The new Chromebook 11 G5 is now ready to experience for the many touch-enabled Chrome and Android applications in the Google Play Store that is planned to be compatible with Chrome Laptops later this year.
Early this year, HP has announced Chromebook 13 with high configuration and a brushed anodised aluminium housing design. The HP Chromebook 13 price starting from $499 to $1029 depending on different configuration. It measures around 12.9 mm thick and weighs about 1.29 kg. New Chromebook HP also comes with long lasting battery life up to 11.5 hours and Bang and Olufsen speakers; a 13.3-inch QHD+ display (3200 x 1800 pixels) resolution; 16GB of RAM, powered by 6th generation Intel Core M (Skylake) processor and equipped with 2x USB-C ports and a microSD card reader.
