After the few inside leaks about the upcoming announcement of a new lens called Hasselblad XCD 45mm F4 P lens (XCD 4/45P), the company decided not to delay the announcement and provided their most compact and lightweight autofocus lens for the medium format camera.

The lens was created specifically for Hasselblad X1D and X1D II mirrorless cameras. The manufacturer claims that the announced lens is the smallest and lightest among the lenses with built-in autofocus for medium format cameras. And for today – this is really so because the Hasselblad XCD 45mm F4 P measuring 47 mm in depth and a weight of 320 g.
Among the features of the lens, the manufacturer distinguishes a leaf shutter which is quieter than that in the existing lenses in the XCD series, as well as a more accurate and quiet mechanism of the autofocus system. The lens is able to focus on the subject at a distance of 35 cm.

Its design consists of 9 elements in 7 groups, including two aspherical lenses. The constant maximum aperture of F4 and the minimum aperture is F22. The lens supports a shutter speed range from 68 minutes to 1/2000 sec.
