With the DriveCam 76, Garmin has presented an exciting GPS navigator device that comes with a whole range of interesting features, from the integrated car dash camera with a recording function to a collision warning and a live display of traffic and weather.
Garmin has expanded its best car GPS DriveCam portfolio with a new model, the heart of which is a 7-inch touchscreen and an IPS panel with a resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels. The current route can be displayed on this screen, including a lane departure warning system that warns users acoustically if they leave the lane.
If the distance to the next vehicle is too small, the DriveCam 76 displays a collision warning. The route can be created via voice control. If a smartphone is connected via Bluetooth, the dashboard camera acts as a hands-free device, and notifications received on the smartphone can be shown directly on the navigation system display. A smartphone connection is also required for the display of traffic and weather in real-time.
The fuel price comparison should make it easier to find the cheapest gas station in the area. On the back of the DriveCam 76 is a 1080p camera with a 140-degree field of view, which can be used to record videos at the touch of a button or by voice command. If an accident is detected, the corresponding video clip is automatically saved on the supplied 16 GB microSD memory card. The DriveCam 76 dashcam for car can be paired with a Garmin BC50 reversing camera (approx. $160 on Amazon) to display the camera image on the DriveCam display.
