Google Pixel 7 Pro launched with 50MP camera, 12GB RAM, and More

Google introduced the Pixel 7 Pro, as the company’s latest flagship smartphone. Google Pixel 7 Pro price is even more attractive thanks to the pre-order deal until October 13th. The Pixel 7 Pro shares many specs with the Pixel 7. So in the following, we want to focus on the differences between the inch Pixel 7 and the larger inch Pixel 7 Pro.

Google Pixel 7 Pro price

In contrast to its little brother, the Pixel 7 Pro’s display is not smaller, it remains the same size at 6.7 inches (120 Hz, dynamic LTPO, 3,120 x 1,440 pixels, 1500 nits, 25 percent higher peak brightness than Pixel 6 Pro), the metal case with Gorilla Glass Victus on the front and back still shrinks a bit at 162.9 x 76.6 x 8.9 mm.

In the run-up, we were surprised by a leak that Google reduced the sensor of the 48-megapixel telephoto camera from 1/2 inch to 1/2.55 inch, which now brings more zoom due to the changed crop factor, specifically 5x instead of 4x for the pixel 6 pers. Google doesn’t buy the more far-reaching optical zoom with a stronger lens, but with a smaller sensor area, which has disadvantages, especially in low light. Unfortunately, the data sheet in the Google Store does not currently confirm whether this information was correct, as the sensor size is no longer mentioned on the telephoto camera.

During the presentation, Google nevertheless promised significantly better zoom results, not only with the native focal lengths of the respective cameras but also in the intermediate stages and beyond that also with 2x zoom, 10x zoom, and a maximum of up to 30x zoom. Artificial intelligence should step in to help and make the result, for example with a 10x zoom, as perfect as with a native 10x lens, for example in the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra – the tests will show how well this works in practice.

The 50-megapixel main camera is the same as the Pixel 7 and Pixel 6 Pro, but the ultra-wide-angle camera with F/2.2 aperture and 125-degree FOV now supports autofocus, which finally allows macro shots. Not only is the zoom camera exclusively reserved for the Pro model this year, but the macro capability of the ultra-wide-angle cam is also Pro-specific. Google allows a maximum of 30x zoom for the Pixel 7 Pro, the 10.8-megapixel front camera with the same specs as the Pixel 7 offers 93 degrees FOV.

The Pixel 7 Pro is powered by a Tensor G2 SoC, and the Titan M2 security chip and stereo speakers have space for a 5,000 mAh battery that supports wireless charging. The 212-gram Google flagship of the year 2022 gets 5 years of security updates and, like the Pixel 7, an included VPN service.
