Gionee Steel 2 has been officially launched in China, it is one of the latest budget smartphone with the front Fingerprint sensor, all metal body and 4000mAh battery. The handset is available in Jazz Gold and Gold Black color variants. Gionee Steel 2 price in China is set to CNY 1,299 – approximately $190 USD, and it is up for pre-order in China from today.

The Gionee Steel 2 features a 5.0-inch IPS LCD display with HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution that can translate a pixel density of 293ppi. The device has a diamond cutting-edge technology frame design and its housing made of durable aluminum alloy. It is powered by a 1.25 GHz quad-core processor which supported by 64-bit MediaTek MT6737 chipset clubbed with Mali-T720MP2 GPU. It has a 3GB of RAM and packs a 16GB / 32GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded via microSD card up to 128GB.
On the camera front, the Steel 2 flaunts an 8-megapixel primary autofocus camera with LED flash and various camera modes like HDR, panoramic, night, business card scanning, QR scanning, translation, text correction, Xpress, intelligent scan and more. It has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with wide-angle lens to capture stunning self portraits and quality video calling. The handset also comes equipped with a front fingerprint sensor embedded in the physical home button. 
The handset runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow -based on Amigo 3.5 UI out of the box. It packs a 4000mAh battery that is claimed to deliver talk time up to 45.45 hours and standby time of up to 527 hours. It supports dual SIM slot with dual standby, For connectivity includes 4G VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 and 3.5 mm audio jack options. It measures 144.3 x 70.5 x 8.6 mm and weights 140 grams.
Last month, Gionee introduced the Gionee M2017 luxury smartphone in China. It packs a 7000mAh battery capacity, luxury design and Snapdragon 653 SoC. It comes in Gold and Black colors and is priced at CNY 6,999 – approximately $1007 for the standard version, while the exclusive version with Italian custom alligator leather back Gionee phone price is CNY 16,999 – approximately $2446.
