Along with the M7 Plus, Gionee mobiles also announced the S11S smartphone at its global winter event in China. The highlights of this Gionee S11S come with FullView display and dual front and rear camera setup. Gionee S11S price in China is CNY 3,299 – approximately $500 and it come in Gold and Platinum Silver color options. It will available from December 2017 in China.
Gionee S11S Specifications
The Gionee S11S features a 6.01-inch AMOLED display with full-HD+ (2160 × 1080 pixels) resolution and 18:9 2.5D curved glass layer on top of it. The body of the S11S is made out of glass and metal, featuring a “shiny” finish with optical nano coating and a “3D-curve” design that’s apparently inspired by cars.
The device is powered by a 2.3 GHz octa-core processor which fueled by MediaTek Helio P30 chipset paired with ARM Mali-G71 MP2 GPU and 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM. It packs a 64GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded via microSD card up to 128GB.
For optics, Gionee S11S bears a dual camera setup at the front and back: 16-megapixel + 8-megapixel at the rear and 20-megapixel + 8-megapixel at the front – with real-time bokeh effect and Face Beauty 4.0 that’s capable of applying different effects based on skin color and face shape. The front camera has a field-of-view of 105 degrees. The phone is capable of creating “3D photos” by stitching multiple images together. The selfie camera can be triggered via the fingerprint scanner at the back, which can also be mapped to trigger different apps.
The Gionee S11S runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Amigo OS 5.0, there is also a new game mode will stop notifications from coming in when you are playing a game or watching a video. A new location-based service will push promotions to you when you walk into a restaurant or shop, and show you maps when you are at the airport, features that will be available only in China.
The handset also features a rear fingerprint sensor and packs a 3600mAh battery. It supports dual SIM slot with dual standby, For connectivity includes 4G VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac (2.4 + 5GHz), GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, and 3.5 mm audio jack options. It measures 155.82 x 72.58 x 6.95 mm and weighs 177 grams.
