At CES 2025, Gigabyte introduced its 16-inch and 18-inch Aorus Master gaming laptops, now available for pre-order in the US. The Gigabyte Aorus Master series features a mini-LED display with 2,000 zones and a 240 Hz refresh rate. It’s also rare to see a notebook with four SO-DIMM slots for up to 128 GB of RAM. In addition, the total TDP (GPU + CPU) is 270 watts, which not even the MSI Titan 18 HX AI can manage. The system also includes RTX 5090 graphics, Core Ultra 9, Thunderbolt 5, PCIe 5.0, and WiFi 7.

Gigabyte Aorus Master Specifications
The most exciting features of the Gigabyte Aorus Master 16 and Aorus Master 18 gaming laptops are probably the mini-LED displays with 2,000 zones, QHD+ resolution, 240Hz, and HDR1000.

Inside, up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 GPU option are available. Together, they can consume up to 270 watts (95 watts + 175 watts)—not even the bulky MSI Titan 18 HX can manage that. The more diminutive Aorus Master’s combined TDP will likely be around 200 watts.
Just as exciting as the built-in display are the four SO-DIMM slots on the Aorus Master 18 for up to 128 GB DDR5-5600 RAM. There is also an M.2 slot with PCIe 5.0 and two M.2 slots with PCIe 4.0 (one on the 16-inch model) for three SSDs. Thunderbolt 5 and WiFi 7 are also included.
Although these great features are not combined with a mechanical keyboard, the Master 18 has at least a full 2 mm key travel and individual key RGB, while the Master 16 has 1.7 mm travel and 3-zone RGB. The Master 18 also offers six speakers, including two woofers, which are missing from the Master 16.

Both Gigabyte laptops also offer numerous connections. The power supply of the 18-inch model delivers a full 400 watts, while the 16-inch model delivers 330 watts. Despite all this, the weight of the more prominent Aorus Master remains under 3 kg, and the smaller model is under 2.5 kg.
