Garmin has launched the Tread 2 Overland Edition and Tread 2 SxS Edition navigators in the United States. These rugged off-road GPS devices feature a larger, brighter display than the original model. They offer turn-by-turn navigation on various trails and unpaved roads, along with a wide range of features.

The new Overland Edition and SxS Edition devices feature a larger 8-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 px; the original model had a 6-inch screen. Reports claim these displays offer higher brightness, though no exact measurements accompany the claim. The manufacturer designed the display to support dual orientation and ensure glove-friendly operation.
The gadgets come with off-road maps for North America. Users can get turn-by-turn navigation for OpenStreetMap routes, U.S. Forest Service motor vehicle use maps, roads, and adventure trails. You can also upload satellite images of your route, view public land boundaries, and receive personalized routing for your vehicle, along with hazard alerts. There’s a database of over 46,000 campsites. Additionally, in the Tread mobile app, you can use Great Rides to find and save the best off-road spots, where you can rate trail difficulty and upload photos.
