Garmin tactix 7 Premium tactical GPS smartwatches with kill switch, stealth mode, flashlight, endurance, and more

Garmin introduced its new premium tactical wrist watch series: tactix 7, tactix 7 Pro, and tactix 7 Ballistics. The new Garmin tactical watch consists of three models with extensive equipment and particularly robust housing.

tactix 7 Garmin tactical watch

With the tactix 7 series, Garmin has launched three new tactical watches. They are aimed at users who have high expectations of a smartwatch and also have a soft spot for military functions – or who work for the same.

The new GPS multisport tactical wrist watch picks up on the features of the Fenix 7 series (REVIEW) but goes one step further in many respects. The 51 mm smartwatch is tested according to the military standard MIL-STD-810G and is particularly robust and waterproof up to 10 ATMs. It is made possible, among other things, by the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, a black titanium bezel with DLC coating, and a titanium case back with PVD coating.

The special functions of the device include a 1.4-inch transflective display that can also be read with night vision goggles, as well as a special multi-LED flashlight. As a special gimmick, there is also a kill switch function that deletes all user data at the push of a button.

Many preloaded maps

Also offered is a special stealth mode where GPS location is not saved or shared, and wireless connectivity and communications are also disabled. Positioning and navigation work with the global satellite systems GPS, GLONASS, and GALILEO. ABC sensors ensure better orientation and precise navigation. Additional maps can be loaded free of charge.

Pre-installed SkiView maps including piste information and cross-country ski trails, and more than 42,000 full-color golf course maps are available for skiing and golf fans. And for skydivers and pilots, the tactix 7 models offer Jumpmaster for destination navigation after parachute deployment following military regulations, as well as Direct-to-Navigation functionality for navigating directly to an airport in the world aviation database or to the nearest airport.

Numerous health and fitness features

Of course, the tactix 7 smartwatches also offer Garmin’s usual 24/7 health and fitness features. These include heart rate measurement on the wrist, respiratory rate, stress level, and oxygen saturation measurement, advanced sleep analysis, health snapshot, and the body battery. Over 60 sports and outdoor apps are preinstalled, plus Stamina, PacePro, and ClimbPro function for runners and cyclists.

As you already know from the Fenix 7 models, the Garmin tactix 7 smartwatches are also enduring. The Standard Edition offers a battery life of up to four weeks in smartwatch mode. The models equipped with solar technology even last up to 37 days in smartwatch mode and up to 122 hours in GPS mode.

Garmin tactix 7 price and availability

However, all of this comes at a steep price in the end. The Garmin tactix 7 “Standard Edition” is available for a recommended retail price of $999.99. The Pro Solar costs $1,199.99, and Pro Solar Ballistic with a special applied ballistic function for calculating corrections at long shooting distances including integration into the AB ecosystem and compatibility with Garmin’s AB Synapse App is available for $1,499.99 on Amazon.com and Adorama.com websites.
