FotodioX New Adapter lets you attach Canon EF lenses to Nikon Z Cameras

Which one to choose? Canon or Nikon, the debate has not subsided so far, and it is always pleasant to see devices entering the market, such as pulling their hands, trying to amalgamate the two camps. If no joke, the FotodioX released a very useful thing named FotodioX Pro Fusion Smart Adapter for Canon EOS EF/EF-S Lenses on Nikon Z Mount Cameras. Which would install the popular and favorite Canon EF lens on many popular and favorite Nikon Z mirrorless cameras.

FotodioX Adapter Canon EF lenses to Nikon Z Cameras

It remains to be said that the adapter allows full autofocus and aperture control when using Canon EF lenses on any Nikon Z mount camera. Image stabilization is also supported, of course, if the stabilizer is built into the Canon EF lens that is installed.

Other features of the FUSION EF-Z adapter include solid all-metal construction with chrome-plated brass mounts for secure and solid fit; lens has no play, gap, or wiggling when mounted on adapter and no adjustments required. There is a Micro USB port for future firmware updates.

There is also a dedicated L-Fn function button on the body of the adapter, familiar to owners of Nikon F-series cameras, and it is also available on Nikon Z-series lenses. The user can access individual settings by pressing this button.

Fotodiox claims that AF speed will be maintained at a high level when using the adapter for both video and stills. However, he emphasizes that autofocus will not be as fast as with native Z-mount lenses or even Nikon lenses with an FTZ adapter.

Regarding image quality, Fotodiox says that the adapter does not have any optics in its design, so the quality will not suffer, in addition, Canon EF lenses will provide full-frame coverage. The adapter’s microcontroller is loaded with a Canon lens library, so the adapter will recognize any Canon-made EF or EF-S lenses. Third-party Canon EF mount lenses are not guaranteed to work.
