Fostex 6301DT Active Monitor Speaker With Dante in Compact Housing

The Fostex 6301 active monitor speaker has been a popular and reliable workhorse for decades, which is particularly common in the broadcast sector. The compact size and the relatively low price make the studio monitors a welcome guest in many other areas. With the 6301DT there is now an update, of course, the optics remain unaffected. Fostex also remains technically true, but with the classic Dante now open up to the world of digital audio networks.

The “DT” in the product name and the Dante logo on the front is the first indication, on the back, there is the RJ45 connection next to the mandatory analog jack input. The Dante Ultimo chip enables sampling rates up to 96 kHz. The Fostex 6301DT can work as 2-channel studio speakers in the Dante network with a switch you choose between the two channels or switch to a mix of both.

Technically, everything is the same here: 20 watts of power and a 10 cm full-range loudspeaker with a frequency range that goes from 75 Hz to 15 kHz. The housing looks exactly like the other studio monitors in the series, the dimensions remain the same. This means that accessories such as the EB6301 wall bracket are also compatible. The on/off switch and the volume control is still located on the front.

So there is another model in this series, for example, the 6301NB with 1/4″ unbalanced input, the 6301ND offers AES/EBU, 6301NE with XLR electronically balanced, and the 6301NX has an XLR input in addition to the jack.
