Focal has announced the release of the new Elegia headphones, a model that fits in the premium band. The Focal Elegia closed-back headphones are made from an aluminum/magnesium alloy paired with a leather headband and breathable memory foam microfibre earpads.
The earcups measure 20mm and are covered with a microfibre fabric as mentioned above. Inside are 40mm M-shape full-range drivers with aluminum and magnesium alloy dome. The frequency response ranges from 5 Hz to 23 kHz with a sensitivity of 105dB and a total harmonic distortion of 0.1% (1 kHz / 100 dB SPL). The impedance instead stands at 35 ohms.
The headphones are provided with 3.5 mm jack connectors (with relative locking mechanism) for each earcup. A 1.2-meter cable is supplied, which ends with a 3.5mm jack. Those who need a 6.3 mm jack output can use the adapter in the package. The product measures 250 x 240 x 120 mm and weighs 430 grams.
The Focal Elegia closed-back headphones price is $899, so it’s not made for everyone. The headphones come with a rigid carrying case, 1.2m cable with a 3.5mm jack and 6.33mm jack adapter.
