The Fitbit Versa2 is up for pre-bookings on B&H store, the new Fitbit Versa smartwatch was unveiled globally back in August. Fitbit ‘s latest smartwatch offers Amazon’s voice assistant Alexa, online payments and music storage in a bid to compete strongly with Apple’s smartwatches.

Pre-orders for Fitbit Versa2, which is priced at $199.95 and $229.95 for the Special Edition, it can be pre-ordered via Bhphotovideo.com and Amazon.com. The smartwatch will be shipped on September 15.

Fitbit has struggled to gain a foothold in the smartwatch category as Apple and Samsung have cornered a bigger share of the market with more sophisticated devices, while its dominant share of the fitness tracking sector continues to be chipped away by cheaper offerings from China’s Huawei and Xiaomi, among others.

Fitbit Versa2 features an AMOLED touch display (always-on) and you can count on up to 5 days of battery life. The anodized aluminum body is water-resistant up to 50 meters, and everything can be controlled through interaction with the screen, and with the only physical key on the side.

New features for sleep monitoring and physical activities and, above all, integrates a microphone through which to interact with the Alexa voice assistant. There are even Fitbit Pay and the official Spotify app to control your favorite playlists directly from the device (but you can also save up to 300 songs on your watch to listen to offline).

Sleep Score gives the user a score that helps control the quality of rest, based on different sleep phases, heart rate and time spent awake. Smart wake, on the other hand, uses machine learning to wake the user up at the “right” moment, following the sleep cycle. This function will be coming soon on Versa2, as will be made available soon the graph on the estimate of the variation of oxygen, elaborated on the basis of the data collected by the sensors positioned below the screen in contact with the wrist. In addition, Sleep Mode turns off the screen and prevents notifications from being received in such a way that sleep is not interrupted.

Obviously there are all the other features related to notifications and fitness monitoring, to which is added Alexa, the real novelty of Versa2. The assistant provides us with useful information for fitness, as it supports us in everyone’s life the days to plan commitments or learn about the weather conditions in our city.
