Eventide H90 Harmonizer Multi-FX Effects Pedal Unveiled

Eventide H90 Harmonizer is the name of the new effects pedal from hardware and software developer Eventide Audio. Of course, behind the name is one of Eventide’s best-known H8000 and H9000 effect devices.

The smaller version H9, which can be equipped with new effects via a paid software update (or the plugin versions), is also popular. Now the successor H90 gets a twice as powerful effects engine, which was packed into the small effects pedal. In addition, the new one has all the effects right from the start. Sounds very exciting!

In addition, effects can now be switched in series or parallel. And Eventide H90 Harmonizer now has a large OLED display – finally! There are five controls for this. There are four instrument and line-level inputs on the input side, so you can use the effect very well for synthesizers and not just for your guitar. Four outputs are also available to use both effect processors separately.

The H90 sports comprehensive I/O, including two 1/4″ mono inserts, which can be combined into one stereo insert, for incorporating outboard effects, or use Dual Mode to process two independent stereo instruments at once. Two expression/control inputs let you connect up to two external control switches or accept CV signals, and the USB-C jack lets you use the H90 Control software to edit programs, create lists, and update firmware on a Mac or PC.

A successful “upgrade” of a great effects processor and the price is accordingly over $900. That’s sure to be over budget for some but certainly justified with this massive package. What do you think about this?

Eventide H90 Harmonizer is now available to pre-order at Bhphotovideo.com for $899. At the moment, we cannot say whether the effect pedal will be available immediately and in what quantity. Of course, we will keep you up to date as soon as the first reports come in.
