Eurocom Sky MX5 R2 with GTX 1070, 4K Display Announced

If the current lineup of high end gaming laptops in the market isn’t cutting it for you, Eurocom’s new offering may interest you. The Canadian computer manufacturer has launched its Sky MX5 R2 laptop, a ‘Gaming laptop’ upgrade to its already impressive Sky MX5 that it released in early this year. Not like other high-end gaming laptops, the Eurocom Sky MX5 R2 laptop has an affordable price tag, with a starting price point of $1,500 USD.  

Eurocom is referring to the Sky MX5 R2 as thin and light gaming laptop, it comes equipped with top-of-the-line desktop-class specifications. The Sky MX5 R2 is powered by Intel Core i7 6700HQ processor. As for the GPU, it comes with 8GB GDDR5 Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 desktop class graphics card.

As for the memory, the base configuration starts with 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and goes up to 64GB of DDR4 RAM. The Sky MX5 R2 comes equipped with a 15.6-inch 4K (3840×2160 pixels) display. Users can also opt for a display with full-HD (1920×1080 pixels) screen resolution with a 48Hz refresh rate and G-Sync panel. You can also choose a 4K panel (glossy or matte) without Nvidia’s variable refresh rate technology.

On the connectivity front, there’s two USB 3.1 Type-C port, three USB 3.0 ports, a pair of Mini Display ports that can power up to four monitors, an HDMI outlet, one headphone, one mic, one RS45 port, and supports Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth. It also comes with up to four storage drives in two M.2 slots and two 2.5 inch storage bays, for a maximum storage capacity of up to 6 TB.
