Erica Synths Black BBD: Dual Analog Delay module for Eurorack

The Erica Synths Black Series continues to grow. With Black BBD, the manufacturer is now presenting an analog delay module for Eurorack with a clever combination of two bucket-chain delay lines. So friends of analog delays will get their money’s worth in the Black Series.

Erica Synths Black BBD Analog Delay module for Eurorack

The Erica Synths Black BBD contains two analog delay lines based on bucket chain circuits (BBD). One of them is responsible for short delay times with 1024 steps. The second BBD circuit provides longer delays with 4096 steps. With a potentiometer can be between two delays fade, making interesting multitap effects are to be built.

In addition to the controller for the delay time, which should also be able to move in very long regions, which are atypical for this type of delay, thanks to a circuit to interrupt the BBD clock, there is of course a feedback potentiometer. With extreme settings, this ensures the characteristic natural oscillation of the delay, which should also be suitable as a sound source for drones.

In addition, Black BBD modular synth offers an integrated LFO with triangular and square waves to modulate the delay time. If an external signal is applied to modulate the delay time, the LFO is deactivated.

In addition to the Time CV input, the module has CV inputs for feedback and the dry-wet mix. In addition to the mix output, there is another output that always outputs the pure effect signal.

With Black BBD, the Black Series is expanded to include an interesting, analog delay module. The Black Stereo Delay has already been a flexible delay in the Black Series, but it works digitally, as does the Black DSP module. Black BBD offers fans of analog modules an exciting alternative.

The module is 12 HP wide and 35 mm deep. It requires 95 mA at +12 V and 81 mA at -12 V.

Price and availability

Erica Synths Black BBD is available now on Amazon.com and the module costs $319 only.

Back in March this year, Eventide has introduced the MicroPitch Delay pedal offers a combination of two pitch shifters with fine-resolution de-tuning, delay, and modulation. Positive and negative envelope modulation sources have been added and is priced at $279.
