Elektron Octatrack MKII Black Edition: Now available in Black

The Elektron Octatrack MKII is now available in the Black Edition. When the “Anniversary Edition” model was presented last autumn, Elektron had already indicated that the Black Edition would also appear as a regular model. Now the time has come and the Elektron Octatrack MKII Black Edition can be ordered immediately.

Elektron Octatrack MKII Black Edition performance sampler

Technically, the dynamic performance sampler corresponds to the Anniversary Edition, which appeared at the beginning of December and was sold out after a short time. Many were happy that there is now a black version in addition to the gray. All those who did not get a chance at the Anniversary Edition now have the opportunity to order the Elektron Octatrack MKII Black Edition. You just have to do without the elaborately designed packaging of the Anniversary Edition. By the way, the gray version will continue to exist, so that you now have the choice between two colors.

The first Octatrack appeared in 2010. For the anniversary, Elektron has presented a strictly limited special edition of the successful performance sampler. Like the Analog Four MKII Black and Analog Rytm MKII Black, it is now in black again, as the original Octatrack.

The Gray color model didn’t appeal to everyone. If you would like to call a Black color your own, the Anniversary Edition gives you the opportunity again. The design is a combination of elements of the MKI and MKII: black color like the MKI, but the square, illuminated buttons of the MKII.

Technically, the device corresponds to the regular Octatrack MKII, which is why the question arises whether the extra charge of over $200 is justified. To make the Octatrack MKII Anniversary Edition tasty for you, Elektron has come up with a few extras in addition to the strict limitation to only a few copies.

The Octatrack MKII Anniversary Edition comes with a CF card that is twice as large (32 GB), which is filled with exclusive sounds from artists such as Andreas Tilliander, Skinnerbox, Jogging House, Headless Horseman, Inhalt, and Arc Rae.

The packaging is also exclusive: the Anniversary Edition comes in a specially designed box with artwork by Japanese artist m7kenji. With the included poster you can hang this design in the studio.

For die-hard Octatrack fans, the Anniversary Edition is sure to be a great thing. However, you have to dig deeper into your pocket for this exclusivity. It has been priced at $1,399 and can be pre-ordered through the Bhphotovideo.com website.

Recently, the Polyend has also made available the All-In-One Tracker that combines retro tracker workflows and modern sound technologies in one portable and affordable instrument, priced at $599.
