After the launch of the EVOLVE 30M portable sound system, Electro-Voice now presents the PXM12-MP, its first active coaxial monitor. The powerful, resilient and flexible Electro Voice speakers are designed for live performances and are ideal for the daily use of solo entertainers, bands, party DJs and event service providers.
The acoustically optimized, powerful, 2-way EV speaker has a 12″ woofer and a 1.75″ tweeter. The small footprint and low weight of 13.5 kg make it an extremely handy solution that is suitable for live performances on all stages, especially in confined spaces.
Thanks to the constant, even radiation, the monitor mix are clearly audible in a large area. The acoustically optimized, vertical 55° monitor angle makes it possible to stand at different distances from the monitor without losing intelligibility. The horizontal beam angle of 90° gives the artists the freedom to move across the stage without having to restrict themselves to a small space.
The PXM-12MP Electro Voice speaker not only supplements every PA system with a dedicated stage monitor, but it also completes the mobile loudspeaker range from ElectroVoice. The radiation pattern of 90° x 90° enables the PXM-12MP to be used for other sound reinforcement tasks. It works equally well as a fill, delay or on a tripod. If the bass foundation is to be expanded, subwoofers can also be connected. The PXM-12MP has several crossover settings as well as plug & play settings for ELX200 and EKX subwoofers from ElectroVoice.
The integrated Class-D two-channel amplifier comes from the developer of the sibling brand Dynacord, delivers 700 W with a maximum sound pressure level of 129 dB and offers precise sound with enough power reserves for the highest monitor requirements.
EV’s intuitive QuickSmart DSP is equipped with a backlit LCD display and rotary encoder and offers first-class signal processing with sophisticated IIR / FIR settings for optimal audio performance. The integrated digital three-band EQ has various factory settings for several application modes and five individual users presets. A special high-Q notch filter can eliminate disturbing feedback frequencies.
The delay function in 0.1 m steps enables precise setting when used as a delay speaker. A GUITARCAB mode offers the possibility of connecting a guitar directly to the PXM-12MP via a DI box.
The recessed connector panel is located on the side of the Electro Voice speaker and offers good protection against damage. It is also easily accessible when used on a tripod or a spacer bar. There are two XLR / TRS combo microphone/line inputs with optional, individual phantom power, a stereo cinch aux input for importing external audio sources and an XLR THRU input for looping through the audio signal. An XLR MIXOUT output allows the speaker to act as a three-channel mixer and send the mix to another speaker. Integrated cable management reduces the cable clutter on the stage and prevents tripping hazards.
The housing is made of hard-wearing 15 mm plywood and has a resistant EV-Coat coating as well as a stable, powder-coated steel grille that guarantees suitability for everyday use.
