EK-Furious Meltemi 120 Radiator Fan is 38mm Thick

The EK Water Blocks, specializing in EK water cooling PC components and systems, recently introduced the EK-Furious Meltemi 120 radiator fan in 120 mm size, designed specifically for LFL and creating high static pressure. Its name is derived from Italian mal tempo meaning “bad weather”.

The CPU cooling fan thickness is 38mm. The usual thickness of such fans is 25 mm. According to the manufacturer, increasing the thickness, it was possible to use a more powerful engine. The motor rotation speed is regulated by PWM in the range of 1200-3500 rpm. In this case, the impeller with seven blades creates an airflow of up to 205 m 3/h. The rotor is supported by a double ball bearing, the average MTBF of which is 50,000 hours. A 500 mm cable with a four-pin connector is used for a connection.

These CPU fans provide the best possible performance in pull mode. Such a regime evens out the airflow through the entire surface of the radiator since the motor hub dead zone effect is lessened. The computer cooling fan is equipped with a red sleeved cable just to warn off those curious little fingers from getting hurt.

Unlike other general computer cooling fans, the EK-Furious Meltemi fans are built specifically for computer watercooling systems, namely radiator cooling. The new 7 fan blade design is optimized for extremely high-pressure built upon a massive motor housed in a 38mm thick frame.

Price and availability

EK-Furious Meltemi 120 radiator fan has been priced at $29.99 only is now available to buy via the Newegg.com online store.

Last week, Thermaltake has also made available the TH240 ARGB Sync Edition CPU liquid PC cooler system. The TH240 ARGB received a 240 mm radiator with two CPU cooling fan system measuring 240 mm x 120 mm, priced at $165.
