DZOFilm has announced a trio of 32mm, 65mm, and 90mm Т2.8 Gnosis macro lenses, which, according to the manufacturer, are designed for shooting close-up video with high definition and sharpness. DZOFilm Gnosis macro lenses are designed for shooting at 10x, 1.33x, and 1.5x zoom ratios with sharp focus from the center of the frame to the very edge.
Offering focal lengths of 32mm, 65mm, and 90mm, the Gnosis range runs from wide angle to telephoto for a variety of macro situations. A wider focal length such as 32mm provides a shorter focusing distance, while a 90mm telephoto lens provides a squeeze feel and natural soft bokeh.
The company says the sharp details provided by the lenses also promise to deliver uniform color with rich gradations as you move from focus to out of focus. Each lens has a 300-degree focus ring and a constant aperture of T2.8 with the ability to close up to T22.
This ARRI LPL-mount lens with focus marks in feet comes with both ARRI PL and Canon EF mounts, enabling you to use it with a wide range of cine-style cameras. Although the developer does not publish minimum focus distances for lenses, product images indicate a minimum focus distance of 0.237 meters for 32mm macro, less than 0.29 meters for 65mm, and up to 0.274 meters for 90mm.
All three lenses feature an industry-standard 114mm front diameter, making them compatible with a variety of accessories, and an LPL lock-on lens mount found on ARRI’s camera platforms, but the company also offers PL and EF mounts.
Price and availability
All three lenses are available to pre-order on Bhphotovideo.com, and the retail price for the DZOFilm Gnosis Macro range of video lenses is $5,389 each, or $15,999 for a kit of three lenses. DZOFilm says it plans to ship orders in early August.
