DJI recently promised to unveil its new action camera in Q4 2021, and it has kept its promise – meet DJI Action 2, a new wide-angle 4K video camera with a waterproof durable aluminum body, OLED touch screen, and magnetic accessories. The DJI camera allows you to shoot 4K 4: 3 video up to 60 fps or 4K UHD at up to 120 fps in the H.265 codec. It forms a true ecosystem when combined with various accessories.
It’s no secret which brand is firmly associated with the concept of “action camera”, but apart from GoPro, Insta360, SJCAM, DJI feel quite confident now. In addition, Sony cannot be disregarded, as this Japanese tech giant’s compact action cameras are very popular with bloggers and content creators.
The highly successful DJI Osmo Action camera was unveiled in 2019, but the annual GoPro updates are not easy to keep up with, and now the DJI’s turn to present the new product, the Action 2.
The main feature of the new DJI Action 2, the manufacturer calls a magnetic design, which allows you to add various accessories, expanding its functionality. So, Action 2 combines modules in the form of a camera, an additional touch screen, a battery compartment, and various peripherals.

It is equipped with a 1.76-inch OLED touchscreen on the back, which is protected by Gorilla Glass.
The DJI Action 2 has a 1/1.7″ sensor and a 155° field of view. The DJI camera has a color temperature sensor that helps you shoot underwater and in difficult lighting conditions by delivering the correct white balance.
The maximum possible video resolution is 4K 4: 3 (4096 x 3072 pixels) at up to 60 fps. For slow-mo, 4K UHD is available up to 120 fps, and with FullHD resolution, you can shoot 240 fps. H.265 and H.264 codecs, Normal and D-Cinelike color profiles can be used. For those who want to take a photo, you can do it in DNG format with a resolution of up to 12 MP.
The DJI camera uses DJI’s RockSteady 2.0 electronic image stabilization system and the new HorizonSteady system for even more stable videos. According to DJI, the built-in battery is rated to last up to 70 minutes. The front touchscreen module extends the run time to 160 minutes, and the optional power module extends the run time to 180 minutes.
