Diesel finally offers smartwatches with competitive features, because the Diesel Griffed Gen 6 offers decent app selection and performance with Google Wear OS 3 and a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100+, buyers have three designs to choose from.

Since the Diesel Fadelite in 2020, Fossil has not introduced a smartwatch under its subsidiary brand Diesel. That’s changing now, because the Diesel Griffed Gen 6 has been announced, which combines a Fossil-typical design with a round AMOLED display, moderately thick screen bezels, and a choice of straps with the current Gen 6 platform.
Technically, the new Diesel smartwatch is identical to a Fossil Gen 6 (approx. $190 on Amazon), including Google Wear OS 3, Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100+, 1 GB of working memory, and 8 GB of flash memory. Fossil’s fast charge function is also on board, which means that the Diesel Griffed Gen 6 can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 30 minutes. Diesel does not provide any information on the battery life, but this should remain at around one day.
With a diameter of 45.5 millimeters and a thickness of 13.6 millimeters, the Griffed is one of the larger smartwatches on the market. The Diesel Gen 6 Griffed also comes with Wear OS 3, like the Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition. The case is water resistant to a depth of 3 ATM. The smartwatch has a heart rate and SpO2 sensor, but no EKG. After all, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5 Low Energy, NFC for mobile payment, and a GPS module are standard equipment.
