The new Denon LC6000 is a new DJ controller that sees the light of day. And it continues an old tradition for DJ products that have rarely been seen in recent years: the expansion controller.
Among other things, Denon’s LC6000 allows controlling the second layer of the standalone media player SC5000, SC5000M, SC6000, or SC6000M. As is known, these are able to output two audio signals, with DJ switching the working level. You could now save yourself this with the LC6000 controller add-on.
But that’s not all, the DJ new device can also be used natively with Virtual DJ, Algoriddim Djay Pro AI, and Serato DJ Pro. As a result, there are numerous ways to expand your existing DJ setup. For example in combination with the aforementioned prime players, a four-channel DJ controller or as a control instance for the aforementioned DJ software in addition to the DJ mixer.
Let’s take a look at the hardware, which comes in the official SC6000 look (but without a screen, media ports, etc.). Denon DJ installs a large capacitive jog wheel with a high-resolution central display for e.g. cover art or DJ logo etc. The haptic resistance of the handwheel can be determined using a controller, a scratch function can be activated and a needle drop can be set using a touch strip.
A dedicated loop section joins the required playback and navigation elements. Further ingredients are buttons for track skip, beat jump, slip, and censor as well as sync and key department. A 100 mm long dual-precision pitch fader enables the finest tempo adjustments during manual beat matching. Even pitch bends are good form at Denon. The multifunctional performance pads for a hot cue, loop, roll, and slicer are easily accessible below the jog wheel.
On the other hand, the connection panel with a power button, power, and USB socket, which also takes over the power supply, is spartan. Okay, it’s just a conttroller, you don’t necessarily need more.
Denon DJ LC6000 price and availability
And what does the fun cost? $699 on Amazon.com, Bhphotovideo.com, and Adorama.com websites. The fact that the Denon LC6000 should have the same built quality as its big brothers may play a role in this context and of course you save, for example, a chunk of coal compared to the purchase of a second media- Players. Nonetheless, this is a proud price.
