Denon and Marantz are the first to be able to manage the DTS Virtual:X technology. And the update will be progressively introduced on range models through firmware upgrades. DTS Virtual:X is nothing more than a virtual surround solution.
Its purpose is to recreate a listening experience similar to the one you would have with a 7.1.4 channel configuration. The system takes into consideration the actual present speakers, recreating the missing ones. There are no pre-set requirements: you can start from a 7.1, 5.1 or even a simple stereo configuration.
The DTS Virtual:X update is already available on these following models:
Denon
Marantz
- NR1608
- SR5012
In the spring of 2018, the media will be extended to the Denon AVR-X4400H, AVR-X6400H and the Marantz SR7012, SR6012 and AV7704.
