With the UP3221Q, Dell has introduced a new Ultra HD 4K monitor with a particularly high contrast ratio and color coverage. The Dell UP3221Q 4K UHD monitor is equipped with a built-in colorimeter so it can be calibrated daily if necessary.
The UP3221Q Dell display is designed for professional users – who at the same time also need a large screen diagonal that the manufacturer has also mentioned. Specifically, the 31.5-inch panel has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, and the refresh rate is the typical 60 Hz for non-game monitors.
The information on color space coverage is much more relevant for professional users. The Adobe RGB space is to be covered to 93 percent, the DCI-P3 color space to 99.8 percent. Color accuracy of Delta-E less than 1 should be achieved in the DCI-P3 space. Any deviations that may occur during the operating time can be recognized and compensated for by the built-in colorimeter on request. According to Dell, external colorimeters are also supported.
According to the manufacturer, the response speed of the IPS panel is at least eight milliseconds, contrast ratio with activated HDR is 1,000,000 to 1. This high brightness of up to 1,000 cd/m² qualifies the model for the DisplayHDR 1000 standard, with activated HDR Mode is accompanied by an increased color deviation.
The extensive functions for the ergonomic design of the working day are no surprise: the model can be tilted, rotated, and adjusted in height, and an anti-glare hood should also prevent annoying reflections. The HDR monitor receives image signals via DisplayPort, HDMI, and Thunderbolt, whereby power delivery with up to 90 watts as well as daisy chain operation.
