Dell Precision 7865 Tower with AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5995WX, up to 48GB Nvidia RTX A6000 for Creators

Dell has unveiled its new Precision 7865 tower workstation PC that packs enough power to satisfy creators, engineers, and future Imperial Senate dissolvers wherever they are. The Dell Precision 7865 workstation computer is powered by AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5000WX processors and can provide up to 56TB of storage, which is more than enough to hold complex workloads and Death Star plans.

The new Dell Precision workstation 7865 has been announced, with base specs including an AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5000WX chip and a choice of high-powered Team Red or Team Green graphics solution. Arguably the most powerful chip in the galaxy, the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5995WX chip, is no longer reserved for Lenovo, as Dell reveals that the Precision Tower 7865 can muster up to 64 cores of CPU power for those with multi-application processes to manage or rogue systems to conquer.

In addition to the ridiculously powerful Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5995WX (64c/128t, up to 4.5GHz, 280W TDP), there is a choice between a 32GB motherboard and a 32GB AMD Radeon PRO W6800 motherboard or 48 GB Nvidia RTX A6000 GPU. The CPU and GPU can be supplemented with 56TB of storage space, while up to 1TB of DDR4 ECC memory can also be added for those who need to switch between multiple applications very quickly or to keep track of all the sneaky souls who managed to escape Order 66.

With all that power comes to a lot of thermal liability, which Dell has taken on. The Precision 7865 is wrapped in a fairly dark “Empire” black casing, which features a “hexagonal ventilation pattern” to allow efficient airflow.

It will be of interest to users dealing with sensitive data, as it comes with a lockable enclosure, TPM 2.0, and “self-encrypting drives” to prevent prying eyes from seeing the location of those vulnerable thermal exhaust ports.

Dell recently also made available the 16-inch Precision Dell 7670 mobile workstation starting at $2,217 with options up to the Core i9-12950HX CPU and a high refresh rate of 4K panels.
