US manufacturer Dell has recently launched a new 14-inch monitor in the UK; namely, the P1425. Notably, this portable IPS monitor weighs just 620 g with the stand. Furthermore, it features a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels (WUXGA, 16:10) and supports a maximum refresh rate of 60 Hz. In addition, it covers 100 percent of the sRGB color space, making it ideal for color-accurate work.
Among the other features of the new portable monitor are an 8-bit color depth, 400 cd/m² brightness, a 1500:1 contrast ratio, and an EU energy efficiency class of B (on a scale from A to G). Notably, the 14-inch model achieves this energy rating due to its low power consumption of just 5 watts.
The Dell P1425 doesn’t include a built-in battery; instead, it draws power through one of its two USB-C ports, supporting up to 65 watts of Power Delivery. You can use a power bank or a laptop to power it. These ports also support DisplayPort Alternate Mode, making it easy to set up multiple monitors with a laptop or even explore whether you can connect a monitor to another monitor in a daisy-chain configuration.
The adjustable stand allows for screen tilt, and portrait mode is supported with an auto-rotate sensor that seamlessly switches between portrait and landscape orientations. Plus, the flicker-free backlight helps reduce eye strain during extended use.

The portable monitor is available now from Amazon.co.uk for around £260. It includes a 1-meter USB-C cable.
Dell UK also introduced the Alienware AW3225DM affordable HDR monitor. It’s a 31.5-inch VA monitor with WQHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels), a 180 Hz refresh rate, DisplayHDR 400, and a 1500R curvature. Priced at £299.99.
