Asus ZenFone AR was launched in USA last year. The smartphone at launch was priced at $599 for 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM version and $699 for 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM model. We learned that the smartphone is available with $200 discount through the Amazon.com store.
Notably, the price drop is available for both variants including 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM model is now available at $399, while the 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM model now costs $499. This represents a $200 discount over ZenFone AR price for the base variant.
Asus ZenFone AR Specifications
The ZenFone AR is Tango smartphone which designed around machine vision with a camera and sensor setup that provides motion tracking, depth perception, and area learning. The handset also comes with a front fingerprint sensor which embedded in the home button.
For those who missed the specifications of the Zenfone AR, based on Android version 7.0 Nougat, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S821 processor (two cores clocked at 2.34GHz and two core clocked at 1.6GHz) that combined a new vapour cooling system to avoid overheating. Display is AMOLED with a 5.7-inch size and QHD (1440 x 2560 pixels) resolution to provide sharp and clear VR experience.
On the camera front, the Asus ZenFone AR sports a 23-megapixel Sony IMX318 camera sensor with TriTech+ autofocus system, dual-PDAF, second-gen Laser Focus, and continuous focus. The rear camera supports 4-axis optical image stabilization (OIS) as well as 3-axis electronic image stabilization (EIS) for video recording alongside support for 4K video recording at 30 fps quite similar to the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom.
