BenQ, the global market leader in DLP home projectors, introduced its new CinePrime Beamer W1800i. It offers 4K UHD resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels) with 8.3 million pixels, a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, and HDR10 / HLG optimized for projection. The Filmmaker Mode, in which movies are played back as requested by the director, is also supported.

The maximum brightness of the new BenQ W1800i movie projector is a solid 2,000 ANSI lumens. It means that the device is not only suitable for home theaters, but also for darkened living rooms. The contrast ratio is 10,000: 1. The 4K projector fully covers the Rec. 709 color standard. The manufacturer gives the maximum possible diagonal with 200 inches. A 100-inch image is already achieved at a projection distance of 2.5 meters, so the device is also suitable for smaller rooms.

BenQ uses Android TV as the operating system for the W1800i. Access to the Google Play Store is possible via WLAN, which can be used to download additional content such as TV series, films, sports, and games. In addition, users can also use the device for wireless multi-platform projection and thus throw content from a smartphone, tablet, or laptop onto the (canvas) wall as an input source. A 5-watt loudspeaker is also installed. Further features of the new BenQ W1800i cinema projector are a 1.3x zoom, a 2D keystone correction against trapezoidal effects, and the option to rotate the image hanging upside down in the ceiling.
