Cayin N6ii Digital Audio Player DAC With Replaceable Audio Motherboard Launched: Price, Availability

Cayin N6ii is a Digital Audio Player and the latest replacement for the N6 DAP was launched back in 2015. The most prominent feature of Cayin’s new high-end music player is the ability to replace the entire “audio motherboard” including the DAC circuit and the analog amplifier. Users can easily replace the audio motherboard circuit, which will help turn the product into a completely new audio player with another sound quality.

The product will come with an audio motherboard called A01, with other replacement boards to be announced in August this year. Audio motherboard A01 is equipped with analog headphone output circuit using OPA1622x4 Op-Amp which is run in parallel mode to make the player’s capacity up to 530mW at 32Ohm. The DAC circuit uses an AKM MK4497 DAC chip.

The headphone output ports include a 4.4mm balance-line-out port, a 3.5mm headphone port, and a 3.5mm output. In addition, the Cayin N6ii also has the ability to comprehensive digital output option: I2S (mini HDMI), USB Audio, and S/PDIF. It has the ability to support Hi-Res music with DSD formats 2.8-11.2MHz, WAV / AIF / AIFF / APE up to 384kHz and FLAC / ALAC to 192kHz.

Cayin N6ii running specially tuned Android 8.1 Oreo operating system Direct Transport Audio (DTA) helps to remove the Sample Rate Conversion (SRC) part of Android, which helps the high-end audio signal to be decoded at the original sampling frequency. No need to go through the resample of Android. The device is equipped with the Cayin Music app and Hiby Music app to meet users’ listening needs.

It is powered by Snapdragon 425 SoC with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable up to 512GB via MicroSD card slot and connect to the external hard drive via USB-C port. It features a 4.2-inch multi-touch IPS display with 768 x 1280 resolution. To the right of the music player has a volume control knob along with buttons for controlling music playback. A home button is located on the front of the player and an LED indicates the charging status of the device.

Cayin N6ii is equipped with Bluetooth 4.2 with SBC, AAC, aptX and LDAC codecs. The music playback mode for the headset (transmitter) supports all 4 codecs, but Bluetooth receiver only supports SBC and LDAC. The product also has Wi-Fi support with IEE 802.11 a / b / g / n. The battery has a capacity up to 5900mAh and can be used continuously for up to 14 hours when using 3.5mm port and up to 13 hours with 4.4mm port. The product has Quick Charge 3.0 support, which fully charges up to 4.5 hours of battery life. Accessories include a case that protects the audio player, USB-C cum data charger, an adapter that converts from 2.5mm balance to 4.4mm balance.
