Canon has introduced two new full-frame lenses for the RF mount that have already been rumored and leaked – the fast prime lens is Canon RF 24mm f1.8 Macro IS STM and the zoom RF 15-30mm f4.5-6.3 IS STM. The new Canon RF lenses share similar optical designs, STM AF drive, and compact housing and are not only compatible with the EOS R/RP and EOS R6 / EOS R5 but will also fit the new Canon APS-C, EOS R7, and EOS R10 models.
Canon RF 24mm f1.8 Macro IS STM
RF 24mm f1.8 Macro IS STM – fast wide-angle fix with stabilizer and Macro function, maximum aperture f/1.8, aperture design with 9 rounded blades. According to these parameters, this is a versatile lens that can be safely used for any scene, from it is perfect for both photos and videos. The RF 24mm f/.8 has an additional control ring on the body that allows you to adjust ISO, aperture, and switch between autofocus methods. Optical design – 11 elements in 9 groups, Super Spectra Coating is used, which is designed to combat ghosting and flare. An optical image stabilizer is built into the body, which can compensate for 5 stops of exposure, and with cameras, with IBIS it will work in conjunction with matrix stabilization and can compensate for up to 6.5 stops.

The RF 15-30mm f4.5-6.3 IS STM zoom cannot boast of an aperture ratio, and the zoom range is not particularly impressive, but it is the same regular lens that beginners buy with the camera. Moreover, its design has an image stabilizer, which will allow you to shoot handheld in low light – Canon promises 5.5 stops. Again, when mounted on a camera with an EOS R with IBIS, the user will receive up to 7 stops of exposure, which is not bad at all. According to the company, weighing just 390g, the zoom lens is compact and durable.

The lens uses an STM autofocus drive with a lead screw, so it allows you to quickly focus when shooting dynamic objects. Canon points out that the autofocus drive is very quiet, which will be useful when shooting video.
The optical design of the lens includes 2 UD (Extra-Low Dispersion) glass elements, 1 aspherical glass element, and Canon SSC (Super Spectra Coating) to combat ghosting and flare. The combined focus and lens control ring allows you to control settings. When mounted on an APS-C camera, the zoom is equivalent to 24-48mm.
