The Canon EOS-1D X Mark II DSLR Camera has been officially launched, a more powerful and upgraded variant from the previous generation was debuted 5 years ago. New Canon EOS-1D X Mark II comes with a 20.2-megapixel CMOS sensor, an expanded range from ISO 50-409600, new 14 fps with full-time AF and AE and the ability to record DCI 4K video at 60fps. With dual DIGIC 6+ processor, fast continuous shooting rates up to 16 fps in live view and record up to 170 raw photos, is treated in about 12 seconds. Canon uses standard CFast 2.0 memory cards for recording speed of up to 445MB/s. Besides, the camera also supports the familiar CompactFlash card too.
The Canon EOS 1DX Mark II body design has not changed much when compared to its precedor, constructed of robust, strong magnesium alloy for rugged performance and an integrated vertical grip design for easy finger placement, intuitive, and efficient handling. Its also dust- and weather-sealed to permit working in any type of difficult harsh environments.
The Canon EOS-1D X Mark II is the first DSLR camera capable of shooting DCI 4K (4096 x 2160 pixels) recording at up to 60 fps at 800 Mbps, along with Full HD 1080p shooting at 120 fps at 360 Mbps for slow motion playback. It features 3.2-inch Clear View II LCD screen with 1.62m-dots.
A full-frame 20.2-megapixel CMOS sensor along with dual DIGIC 6+ image processors can provide high performance throughout the system. Camera can capture 8.8-megapixel still through electronic shutter when shooting, support of uncompressed HDMI signal but only in Full HD. About Full HD video recording capability, the device records up to 120 fps frame, similar to Sony A7S II.
Canon integrated combination of High Density Reticular AF II and Dual Pixel CMOS AF Systems, which incorporates 41 cross-type points for increased precision as well as a center point that is sensitive to -3 EV. All 61 phase-detection points support metering at effective apertures of f/8 or larger, which benefits the use of teleconverters and telephoto lenses.
AF algorithm has also been improved with AI Servo AF III+ combined with many customization by the user. An advanced 360,000-pixel RGB+IR metering sensor combined with infrared sensitivity and a refined detection algorithm helps to maintain accurate and consistent metering results from subject to subject, and to meet the high demands of sports photography.
Canon integrated GPS connection with the Canon EOS 1D X DSLR camera body is located above the optical viewfinder. While Wi-Fi functionality with WFT-E8A or WFT-E6A Wireless File Transmitter that supports 802.11ac/n/a/b/g; 2.4GHz dual-band and 5GHz band connectivity.
The Canon EOS-1D X Mark II price is set to $5999 USD for body only along with Canon also unveiled various Accessories for EOS-1D X Mark II such as Canon AC Adapter AC-E19, DC Coupler DR-E17, DR-E19 DC Coupler, Ec-C6 Focusing Screen, LC-E19 Battery Charger, LP-E19 Battery Pack and Canon WFT-E8A Wireless File Transmitter.
