Techart LM-EA9 Leica M to Sony E Mount adapter available for order

Techart, a manufacturer of lens adapters, announced at the end of June that the release of the LM-EA9 is now available to purchase. It is a second-generation camera lens adapter with built-in autofocus capabilities for attaching Leica M-mount optics to Sony E cameras.

This updated adapter offers improvements over its predecessor while reducing the form factor. The LM-EA9 is the successor to Techart’s LM-EA7, which the company says is its best-selling product to date. However, nothing is perfect, so Techart has made a few changes to make the new LM-EA9 even more capable.

The biggest change is the new autofocus system, which now uses four smaller motors instead of one large motor. It not only allows autofocus to work faster and quieter but also allows Techart to reduce the size of the adapter. The company has also improved the durability of the mounting plate, which should mean less mount wear even when using larger lenses.

Techart says they’ve also changed the look of the adapter to better fit on the Sony E-mount mirrorless camera line. The principle is similar to the Contax AX camera in that the flange distance is adjusted to reach the focus. which is sufficient to cover the focusing distance for most of the lenses. And the optical performance will not be affected for unit focusing lenses.
