Bowers & Wilkins launches Carbon Edition of PX7 Noise Canceling Headphones

The traditional audio expert Bowers & Wilkins launched its very first headphones named P5 ten years ago. To celebrate this anniversary, the B and W company is introducing a brand new Carbon Edition of the PX7 Noise Canceling headphones, which gives Bower and Wilkins’s highest quality wireless headphones a design upgrade.

Bowers & Wilkins launched a brand-new version of its PX7 headphones that was announced last year ($399.99 on Amazon) to celebrate that the company has been making headphones for a decade. For this, B&W is using a new finish, which is not only intended to be reminiscent of the brand’s first headphones, the B&W P5 but at the same time, the look should pay homage to the carbon fiber structure of the PX7. However, nothing has changed in terms of the materials, so the “Carbon Edition” uses exactly as much carbon fiber as the standard version of the headphones.

The main aim of the material is to reduce additional resonances without increasing the weight, whereby the PX7 are no lightweights at 310 grams. Technically, however, nothing changes: The Noise Cancelling headphones with mic has 43.6-millimeter drivers, as usual, which reach a frequency range of 10 Hz to 30 kHz and therefore should ensure excellent sound quality.

The battery lasts 30 hours, even when the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is used. Charging is via USB-C, 15 minutes on the charging should provide enough juice for five hours of music playback. The connection to the smartphone is either via an optional AUX cable or via Bluetooth 5.0, whereby in addition to SBC and AAC, Qualcomm aptX, aptX HD and aptX Adaptive are supported.

Price and availability

The Bowers & Wilkins PX7 Carbon Edition Noise Canceling Headphones will be available from October for a recommended retail price of $399.99 and is now available to pre-order on BestBuy.com website.
